Newsletter: A Saturday Lunchtime January 2003
Yes it is a great view across the city but when the client does
not have any plans how do you deal with 16 different kinds of ducting
of which 4 are kitchen extract.
We
are at a well known blue chip company in the heart of London. The
sun is shining across the roof top of this nine story building.
The work started last week with the main canopies in the two restaurants
downstairs which are connected to two ducts which then go through
a converted office which is now a dentist.
Previous companies have tried to find where the ducting goes but
to no avail. After a thorough investigation the remainder of the
ducting was found. We had to remove a 90 degree angle from the roof
ducting and lower a man down a vertical shaft using rope assisted
equipment to clean the fans.
On checking the fans for grease build up we find a minimal layer
due to the quality of food that is cooked in the kitchens. Wouldn't
it be nice if all ducting had just a 10 micron layer of grease that
had built up in two years.
Another certificate to standard HVCA TR17 can now be issued.
